FTTH (FIBER TO THE HOME) TECHNOLOGY & OPERATION

FTTH (FIBER TO THE HOME) TECHNOLOGY & OPERATION

This is a comprehensive course that provides the necessary background to understand the fundamentals of fiber optics transmission and distribution systems and their individual components including fibers, cable construction, connectors, splices, test equipment, communication basics, transmission basis and distribution basis. Participants will use this knowledge to develop the required techniques for design, installations and maintenance of FTTH systems as a direct application for the fibre optics distribution systems.

Program Objectives

By the end of the program, participants will be able to:

  1. Detailed experience in jointing, splicing and testing fibre optics systems
  2. A solid knowledge of fibre optics communications systems
  3. Literature review for different communication and transmission systems
  4. Latest applications for FTTX distribution techniques and specially FTTH
  5. How to design and install your own fully operational fibre optics FTTH
  6. Approaches to troubleshooting the system operation system
